Dr. Jeremy “JJ” Grabouski

Dr. JJ Grabouski grew up in Sioux City, IA where he graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School. He began taking an interest in orthodontics at an early age while watching his father, who is also an orthodontist. Dr. JJ attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate degree (2009) and Doctorate of Dental Surgery (2013), graduating with high distinction and induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. During dental school, Dr. JJ accomplished several research projects for the University Of Iowa Department Of Orthodontics with Dr. Robert Staley. The results were presented at IADR national research conferences. Upon graduation, he completed a 3-year orthodontic residency and Master’s Thesis at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under the famous Dr. William Proffit (2016). During his residency, Dr. JJ also received advanced training on the diagnosis and treatment of dentofacial deformities with Dr. Timothy Turvey.

After residency, Dr. JJ joined his father in practice in Sioux City where he became a full partner in a group orthodontic practice. Through practice, he has become familiar with a wide variety of procedures (TADs, lasers, surgical planning) and appliances (expanders, bite appliances, clear aligners). He is still finishing patients part-time in Sioux City for several months while he gets started with Central Iowa Orthodontics.

He is currently serving as President of the Iowa Society of Orthodontists and has served as President of the Sioux City Dental Society. Dr. JJ is fully board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics since 2016 and holds state licenses to practice in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Dr. JJ is very busy at home as his family includes his wife (Christina), three sons (James 7, Henry 5, Jack 3), daughter (Mila 1) and golden retriever (Sundance). Christina is from Des Moines with lots of extended family nearby, some of which are also members of the Des Moines dental community. The Grabouski family loves spending time at Lake Okoboji in the summer. In his time off, Dr. JJ enjoys running, golfing, fantasy football, watching sports and anything on the water.
